Mylene Wyatt-Brun
I would describe myself as a versatile dancer and a developing dance artist. My ambitions lie in how to push my body’s ability to create new shapes and states of being.
With this, I have found that Release is a style that is most fitting to me and aids me to experiment with this idea at greatest depths.
As a professional dancer from the University of Roehampton, I am ready to delve into new dance experiences with an open mind. My dance training consists of Modern and Postmodern dance styles such as; Graham, Cunningham, Release, Contact and Limon; achieving firsts in each one. Outside of studies, I have expanded my dance repertory by taking regular classes in Commercial, Horton, Gaga and Ballet.
To further expand my dance palate, I took interest in brief teachings of many global dances, such as Nigerian grove, Chinese classical ballet, Greek classical dance and kathak; which I had performed at the University of Roehampton.
A style that I have grown fond of is Salsa, from Rumba to Cuban. With this, I have taken several brilliant workshops with experts such as Maykel Fonts and Fredy Clan. Salsa is a dance form that I ultimately learnt for fun, nonetheless, it inevitably strengthens my dance vocabulary, making it richer and more dynamic.
After my university studies I joined Kibbutz Contemporary Dance for 5 months which expand my vocabulary, from much repertory, intensifying my bodily training and creative works.
